Waterfall Ice Climbing

A day of extreme fun and excitement creating high levels of adrenaline!!!!

This is indeed a high octane day and starts with a thorough equipment, clothing and food/water check at 7.30am.

After this a 45 minute drive to the Remarkables Ski Area will allow a quick enter into the alpine zone at 1600m.

We then hike up to Lake Alta (40mins) 1800m where we get our first real view of our frozen cascades. From here another 40-60minute hike through snow will have us standing in front of our frozen monsters at 2000m in elevation.

There are several climbs to choose from, 45meters to 70 metres high. There is a smaller cascade close by should we need to use it.

Your guide/instructor will now supervise what equipment you need and how to organise it safely
You will be taught how to belay correctly, manage the rope, use ice axe and hammer, place your crampons in and on the ice, twist in ice screws, and build ice anchors.
On top of all these new found skills you will climb your little heart out and be totally trashed at the end of the day.

Home time down at base is approx. 6.00pm

All technical equipment and transport is supplied. Please tell us your boot size. Hiring boots may be necessary if we haven't your size - $15 for the day. You need to bring a good lunch and hot drink. Warm outdoor clothing with waterproofs is essential.

You now need to organise your time and place to meet your guide, fill out your application form and of course pay your fee. Bookings are essential and will only be accepted with a 50% deposit.
